Sami and Noah are definitely some of my closest friends at Loyola. We all met at the beginning of freshman football camp. Sami and I also had an opportunity to become closer because we carpool together as well. Over the last year and a half, I have learned that he is athletic, playing three sports: football, rugby, and shot-put. On the football field, Sami is one of our best lineman, playing both sides of the ball. He has also played rugby for nine years and is working on making a rugby club for Loyola in the winter.
Everyone knows Noah. He was our freshman student body president and is now our sophomore student body president. He was also elected to be our football team captain for the freshman and sophomore team. Noah and I gravitated towards each other because we are some of the few Asians on the team. Noah is extremely smart; taking 3 honors classes and an AP in his sophomore year is not something everyone can handle, especially being so involved in school. Along with his aspirations on making a successful club, he also plays three sports: football, basketball, and lacrosse.
Playing three sports, they both talk about ways to relax after a hard week and how they manage their school work and extracurriculars. Carving out time for themselves is obviously important for their mental health in order to avoid getting burnt out. Another key strategy is staying optimistic; knowing that good times will come after bad.
